1.Subvert
(1)To subvert something means to destroy its power and influence.

3. filial
You can use filial to describe the duties, feelings, or relationships which exist between a son or daughter and his or her parents.

His father would accuse him of neglecting his filial duties.

4.inexorable
You use inexorable to describe a process which cannot be prevented from continuing or progressing.

5. tinge
verb [usually passive]
(1) ~ sth (with sth) : to add a small amount of colour to sth
（轻微地）给 … 着色，给 … 染色

(2）~ sth (with sth): to add a small amount of a particular emotion or quality to sth 使略带 … 感情（或性质）
a look of surprise tinged with disapproval

shade ◇ hue ◇ tint ◇ tinge：以上各词均涉及颜色、色彩。
(1)colour/color：指颜色、色彩（如红色、绿色、蓝色）：
bright/dark/light colours
鲜艳的/深/浅颜色
(2)Shade： 指色彩的浓淡深浅、色度（如天蓝是蓝色的一种）
(3)hue (literary or technical)：指颜色、色度、色调：
His face took on an unhealthy, whitish hue.

(4)Tint：指色调、淡色彩、一层淡色：

tint or tinge? 用 tint 还是 tinge？
You can say 可以说：a reddish tint/tinge or或：a tinge of red略带一点淡红色
but not但不说：a tint of red.
Tint is often used in the plural, but tinge is almost always singular. tint常用复数，但tinge 几乎总是用单数。
6. destitute adj.
(1)without money, food and the other things necessary for life 贫困的；贫穷的；赤贫的
When he died, his family was left completely destitute.
他死时家里一贫如洗。
SYNONYM: bankrupt, deprived, down-and-out, homeless, impecunious, impoverished, indigent, insolvent, needy, penniless, poor, poverty-stricken,[informal日常用语] skint.
(2) the destitute noun [pl.] people who are destitute
穷人；贫民

the have-nots, paupers, the poor, tramps, vagrants.

They seem destitute of ordinary human feelings.

7. deride
If you deride someone or something, you say that they are stupid or have no value. [formal]
