【美国国家地理】：穿上棉衣去沙漠

　　We are going to the desert for our exploration. Are you ready?

　　Deserts are the driest places on Earth. Many deserts were formed a long time ago. In deserts, it may rain a lot all at once. Then it might not rain for months or even years! Some deserts are super-hot during the day. The temperature can reach 56℃. We can even fry an egg. Deserts will get cold at night. Why? That’s because clouds and water vapor are like a blanket. They can hold in heat. But deserts do not have enough clouds or water vapor. So, they get cold at night!

　　Deserts are dry and hot. But many animals live in the desert. Desert animals such as kangaroo rats can live without much water. Kangaroo rats hide under rocks during the day. At night,the deserts cool down. That’s when the animals come out to hunt for food. If you want to explore deserts, remember to pack water,sunglasses and warm clothes. 　　沙漠里既干旱又炎热。但是仍然有很多小动物住在那里。沙漠动物比如长鼻袋鼠，用不了多少水就能活下去。在炎热的白天，长鼻袋鼠藏身石头下面。晚上，温度降下来的时候。它们才出来觅食。如果你也想去沙漠里一探究竟，一定要带上水、墨镜和大棉衣再出发。
