工作类话题是托福常考话题类型之一。具体话题如下:
1. A job with more vacation timebut a low salary is better than a job with a high salary but less vacationtime.
2. It is better to take asecure job with a low pay than to take a job with a high pay but is easy tolose.
3. Young people should trydifferent jobs before they decide which job or career they will do in the longterm.

此类话题对于高中生来说稍稍有点挑战,因为他们大部分还没有面临或是经历工作,所以感触会少一些,最多只能凭着他们对周边父母,亲戚等成人的间接经历和经验来确定他们的观点和论点。而对于大学生,特别是即将毕业并且马上面临就业抉择的大三大四的学生来说,和工作相关的话题并不陌生。虽有更多的感受和体会,很多大学生人也不知道如何解此类题目。换句话说,他们经常会觉得给出观点,给一两个理由很简单,但是如果真正做到ETS官方要求的标准,三个论点来支持一个观点,就显得比较无助。
下面让我们理一理此类话题的考题内容以及解题思路:
工作类话题经常会涉及如上面话题所示的内容:不同工作类型的选择(分析利弊如第1,2题),日常生活中人们各种择业方式(利弊分析如第3题),不同能力在工作中的意义权衡。(如第4题)。 在寻找解题思路之前,我们需要总结一下现代工作给个人带来的影响,以及每个人找工作的流程。
工作对于大部分人来说,意味着:
1, 生活质量的保障,包括个人和家庭的基本生活;更多的娱乐方式和质量
2, 个人成就感,主要来源于工作前景,升职以及能力的锻炼和提升。
但是有时候工作也会:
1. 占据太多时间,无法保证个人生活(身心疲惫,社交生活少,业余爱好没时间)
2. 太稳定的工作可能没有挑战,消磨工作激情;
3. 不稳定的工作带来心理压力,需要极大的竞争力才能生存于就业市场。
大部分人找工作的流程如下:
1, 确定职业方向
2, 选择就业单位并参加面试
3, 就业并适应工作环境: 处理人际关系(领导,同事,客户等);学习并运用就业技能(在确定职业方向前最好已经具备一定的专业知识)
