　　An elementary school wants to increase the time on educating students technology (such as computers), which means that students will have less time for the study of music and art. When it comes to spending the time on studying arts and music and the time on studying technology, which one do you think is better for elementary students?

　　02、审题要点：

　　1. elementary school，注意小学的课程特点以及小学生学生年龄段的特点。

　　2. Increase the time...，注意并不是technology和music, art课二选一，而是两者都学，要不要增加一个的时间，减少另外一个的时间。

　　参考思路大纲

　　总观点：还是不要减少艺术和音乐的学习时间。

　　The school had better not sacrifice the time of music and art for more time in learning technology.

　　让步段：technology确实有助于学生学习（benefit/facilitate their study）. 学会利用不同的apps to improve spoken English, look up new words, and even read books. Besides, they can easily have access to resources they need, such as background information of an author, extended reading about a historical event and interesting experiments on a chemical reaction.但是，不应该因此减少学习音乐和艺术的时间。

　　分论点一：Music and art could help children grow emotionally. 帮助孩子能够更好地管理情绪。

　　—音乐和艺术总能和我们的不同情绪呼应，不管是悲伤，快乐还是孤独。Music and art could echo with any kinds of emotions they have, whether it be sadness, happiness or loneliness. 这样，孩子能够从小用冷静和积极的形式处理情绪。Thus, children could find ways to deal with his/her emotions in a calm and positive manner from an early age.

　　—举例子加细节需要至少知道一些艺术作品，比如Beethoven的Ode to Joy, Vincent van Gogh的The Starry Night, Sunflowers。

　　分论点二：Music and art can benefit children’s creativity.

　　—学校的课程经常要机械背诵拼写，公式，memorize spelling, formula rigidly.

　　而艺术没有对错no right and wrong，孩子们可以自由探索，不用担心犯错。they can explore the world of art at will without worrying about making mistakes.  因此，孩子有机会尝试，并完成属于自己的独特作品。accomplish a piece of work that is uniquely theirs.

　　注意本题中 不能用的分论点，比如学习这些课程太难，或者学习这些额外的课程增加负担，因为题目背景已经限定了，这只是小学生的技术跟艺术课，本身难度肯定是匹配小学生的，不用再担心难度问题。但是分论点：某个课更适合在小学的时候学，是合适的。另外，这些课程本身就都有，只不过是探讨时间多少的问题，不用说课程压力。 最后，如果段内已经出现对比了，可以不用写让步段。
