　　11. come across 偶遇；遇见

　　He is determined to ignore all distractions he might come across in order to focus on his art work.

　　他决心要无视他可能遇到的所有干扰源以此专注于自己的艺术创作。

　　12. stay on the alert of ... 对……保持警惕

　　Making mistakes is inevitable. But staying on the alert of them greatly reduces the chances of blundering.

　　犯错误不可避免。但是对他们保持警惕可以避免犯错的机会。

　　造句练习：专注于学习时一定也要对可能的干扰源保持警惕。

　　An example of stressed out is the bad mood of someone who worked through the night and still hasn’t finished a project.

　　过度劳累的一个例子就是那些熬夜工作却还是没有完成计划的人的坏情绪。

　　14. stand the test of time 经历时间的考验

　　* I prefer books because it is easier for me to find those books which have stood the test of time.

　　15. tempted by 被……鼓动；被诱惑（一般是不大好的事情）

　　= want to = something urge/ motivate sb

　　* Too many people have been tempted by the promise of low rates and other amazing benefits only to find that they were temporary offers at best.

　　很多人一直被承诺的低利率和其他的令人吃惊的利益的诱惑，结果却发现他们只是临时性的得到这些。

　　造句练习：被追求金钱的欲望所鼓动，他开始做一些非法交易。
