　　In the past, many people had practical skills such as making their own clothes and doing repairs to things in the house. But nowadays in many countries, skills like these are disappearing.

　　In my country, it is a serious situation. I remember when I was little boy, my parent seldom purchased cloth from store for me, instead, my mother made cloth by hands for me. I also remember that my father went to repair our furniture and bicycles, and sometimes went to replace broken class of window. Nowadays, I can't find anyone who wears cloth making by hands. I can still find sewing machine in some families, but nobody use it. It is just a decoration of house. People usually go to store to purchase their favorite clothes. It’s harder and harder to find a shop to repair bicycles. Actually, less people ride bicycle, instead, more and more people driving. So, practical skills of living are really disappearing.

　　Why this change is happening? As I considering, there are some reasons, including following points. Firstly, with the development of society and economy, there are plenty productions of living, also more and more store were built. It's convenient for people to purchase cloth or something. People needn't make cloth by hand anymore. Secondly, People's concepts were changed. People choose something not only for practical but also for good looking. In addition, in people’s spare time, more and more people choose to sport instead of doing house work. People like to enjoy their life. Moreover, some people don't have these practical skills because there aren't chances for them to practice.

　　In conclusion, I think in the past people are more likely to do repair things or practical things, and the reasons are above.
