  题目:

Group or team activities can teach more important skills for life than those activities which are done alone. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

  高分范文:

It is believed that people participating in team activities can acquire more life skills than those who enjoy doing things alone. Personally, I completely agree with this opinion.

It is apparent that getting involved in group activities allows people to be good at communicating with others. This is because in such activities, everyone needs to listen to and respond to each other's opinions. How can people learn getting along with others if they do not try to win a football game together? Many children form strong and personal relationships with the friends they play with, and without the opportunity to do this, they could grow up emotionally immature or unformed.

People also develop decision making and critical thinking skills while playing a part in team activities. For example, in the case of group discussion in high school lectures, students learn how to make their voice heard and they also learn how to accept the correct suggestions, probably sounding harsh, from others. In solo activities, however, there is need to communicate and so we do not learn these skills.

It is true that people foster the ability to behave and think independently via reading or traveling alone, but such qualities can also be easily achieved through team activities where each member is required to contribute their own thoughts and efforts. Therefore, I would argue that the skills gained through solo activities or games can also be fostered by people doing things together.

In conclusion, both team and individual activities are helpful for people to develop useful life skills, but I strongly believe that the former can produce better results.
