雅思口语解析：Transport

　　当part 2 被问及交通工具的时候，你在part 3中就很可能会与考官讨论各种交通工具，种类及优缺点。除此之外，考官还可能就中国或者你家乡的交通状况进行提问。

　　What types of public transport are there in your hometown?

　　Are you satisfied with the traffic in your city?

　　What are the advantages to society of having more people using public transportation?

　　Why do some people have to travel long distance to work every day?

　　这两个题目涉及的都是关于你家乡交通状况，你是否满意整体的交通，还有就是公共交通设施如何。

　　1. What types of public transport are there in your hometown?

　　在回答这道题的时候，考生很容易一直举例子，却缺乏逻辑性或者深度，例如'There are many different kinds of public transportation in my hometown, such as buses, underground, trains, trams, ferries and so on.' 这种回答很难达到一定的长度，并且感觉没有深度。

　　所以考生在这里可以进行分类说明，类别可以有很多，比如高峰期in rush hours,人们喜欢什么;或者根据路途的距离来分类，比如短程travel for a short trip,人们会选用什么。这里 我选用的类别是最受欢迎和最常使用的类别。

　　Actually, there are many different kinds of public transportation in my hometown, such as, trains, trams, ferries and so on. However, the most of popular and common one would be the buses and the underground as these two types of transport are very reasonable and economical. They are most people's choices, especially the underground, you know, the price's very affordable and that you will never need to worry about traffic jam or being stuck in the traffic by taking underground.

　　在这里 我们补充一些，关于不同的公共交通设施的优点和缺点。

　　Buses:

　　very cheap / reasonable/ affordable/ economical 经济实惠的

　　too crowd / hot/ noisy

　　Underground:

　　Reasonable prices 价格公道

　　avoid traffic congestion 避免交通拥堵

　　a little bit packed in the rush hours 高峰期有些拥挤

　　Trains:

　　Fast 快捷

　　be more expensive than buses 比公车贵

　　sometimes, not frequent enough 车次不是很多

　　some places cannot be reached 有的地方到不了

　　Trams

　　Urbanization 城市化

　　connect two cities 链接两个城市

　　very fast and efficient 非常便捷

　　not flexible enough 不是非常的灵活

　　注意：taxi是private hire 并不算在公共交通工具中。

　　2. Are you satisfied with the traffic in you city?

　　这道题目依然可以延续使用分类法，就是可以想想在什么情况下，你对家乡的交通是满意的，什么情况下是不满意，需要吐槽的。这样就可以有效的延长你回答的长度，还有一定的逻辑性。

　　在这里，我采用的是时间的分类，就是在大多数情况下，我对家乡的交通状况和设施是满意的，只是在高峰时段或者一些交通要道的状况不太满意。

　　In general, I'm pretty happy with the transportation and traffic in my hometown. I mean the roads are quite wide and some transportation facilities are very advanced, especially the underground and buses, they look pretty new and clean all the time. But I do have something to complain, you know in the rush hours, the amount of cars increases very fast within a short time, some thoroughfares can be very congested. People who just finish their work cannot get a taxi or may waste a lot of time on going home.

　　另一个方向呢，就是考官会在part 3中和你讨论各种各样的交通工具，他们的优缺点和功能，以及人们为什么选择了这些交通工具。

　　我们看一下这几个题，

　　1. What are the advantages to society of having more people using public transportation?

　　2. Why do some people have to travel long distance to work every day?

　　要答好这些题目，我们需要了解一下public transportation和private transportation各自各优点和缺点。

　　public transportation

　　优点：

　　help people to save money

　　affordable

　　environmental friendly

　　In rush hours, buses can use bus lanes to run faster.

　　There is no need to worry about parking.

　　ease the traffic jam

　　缺点:

　　not flexible enough

　　the environment cannot be very ideal

　　too crowed in rush hours

　　not very comfortable

　　not spontaneous 不够自发的

　　private transport:

　　优点

　　very convenient

　　do not need to follow any time schedule

　　feel comfortable

　　show people's social status

　　help people to improve their life qualities

　　缺点

　　can be expensive

　　find places to park

　　be bad for the environment

　　3. What are the advantages to society of having more people using public transportation?

　　这里的好处可以从环保和停车问题去入手：

　　I guess there are many advantages to the society if everyone is trying to use public transportation. The most obvious one would be that the environment, especially the air quality will be much better and people will have the awareness of protecting the environment by changing some of their habits. Plus, there might be more spaces to use in places, like cities. Lands for parking can be used to build flats or houses for people to use.

　　4. Why do some people have to travel long distance to work every day?

　　这个题目可以考虑经济因素，可能住处会便宜一些。 当然，公共交通比较便宜，也可以帮人们降低交通成本，让人们选择住远一些，环境更好一些的地方。

　　The first reason comes to my mind is the lower price of houses and flats. If people's working places are in city centers, it would be too expensive for them to live in some flats near their companies because the land price in centers is very high. However, if they choose to live a bit further from the center, say in suburban areas, the rents can be much cheaper. Besides, well-developed public transportation also makes it possible for people to travel long distance to work.
