　　It depends on an individual's view, situation and wealth of the family. But for most of us, we should consider our financial situation before spending. People sometimes spend a lot to have fun or to get recognition. This is acceptable, as long as the situation doesn't bite you back in the future. If you're in a straitened situation, you can have a simple meal with your family or friends. However, if you're wealthy, spending money to treat your friends or acquaintances during the celebration can be a boon. This helps to socialize with other people and opens many avenues for profits and relationships. At the end of the day, happiness is everything.

　　2.How much time do people need to prepare celebrations?

　　It depends on the purpose and the scale of the celebration. Most celebrations are about weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Wedding ceremonies are generally the grandest occasion for most of us, so they take the most time to prepare. As far as I know, preparations for Chinese weddings should be on track half a year before the day of the event.
