三伏天来袭 你准备好蒸桑拿了吗

　　冬练三九，夏练三伏，三伏是一年中连续高温最热的季节，天好像在下火一样，三伏中的三指的是“初伏、二伏、末伏”，三伏天是按照我国古代的“天干地支纪日法”确定的。今年的三伏天从7月16日至8月24日，共计40天。

　　你知道三伏用英语怎么说吗？没错，就是“Dog days”，有人很奇怪，为什么三伏天会与狗有关？

　　其实这个有趣的翻译与天狼星(Sirius)有关。天狼星(Sirius)俗称“狗星”（the Dog Star），天文学家很早就发现，在暑热蒸腾的7~9月，这颗闪耀的星星会在日出前停留在天际，太阳升起后，它也随之消失。古罗马人曾迷信地认为，炎热夏天的“狗星”与太阳如此靠近，是造成世间干旱和疾病的元凶，因此，每到盛夏他们总要宰狗祭神。还有另外一种说法是，天热的时候，狗会伸长舌头喘气，所以这种能把狗都热的喘气的天气，就叫做dog days，即夏天的酷热时期。英语中，把北半球7月初至8月中这段时期成为“Dog days of Summer”。
